In the UK they are called "Doner Kebab" ... usually a 3ft x 1ft cylinder of minced lamb (or chicken) meat and spices on a kebab lance rotated vertically in front of a flame and carved off in thin strips into a pitta flat bread and served with salad & garlic mayo ... gorgeous!!
