dyac still sucks! cmon guys change the design back, I am on cell phone and it takes forever to reload the next page, so I don't see the point of going here anymore.

Hey Samuel, we're working on optimizing the loading time of the site. It will be much faster when we deploy our next phase of the redesign. That phase will also include an awesome archive that will allow you to see an entire day's post on a single page. Just hang tight, we're on it!

Make it so only the next image loads, not the entire page, it's way better.

Wow a response ... Well, perhaps you should have finished all redesign phases BEFORE changing the look. I assume your traffic is dropping a lot now and more importantly, you are not creating a lot of goodwill from the regular visitors with your lack of communication in the past and by ignoring the repeated requests to revert/improve for weeks. I find this attitude extremely surprising for a site of your size and popularity.

This design blows. No wonder I stopped visiting this shitty site. Loading each submission individually is a fucking retarded idea, have fun watching your traffic drop and your ad revenue crash.

Classy. It's possible to express dislike without resorting to that sort of language, isn't it? You must be really fun at work--which I assume is down on the docks somewhere.

it's true, opinions are like assholes, everybody has one and they're usually full of shit, you can't get mad at interweb people, you just can't.

I'm not new and I'm not pushing for censorship... but I have to agree with Brook. It's an indication of one's character and lack of ability to communicate effectively, that they have to resort to the basest, most vile expressions possible, simply to denote unhappiness with something.
I honestly think that the administrators of this (or any) website will be much more receptive to a well formed complaint rather than childish "flaming".

I got the perfect quote for Brook and Joseph from Stephen Fry.
"The sort of twee person who thinks swearing is in any way a sign of a lack of education or a lack of verbal interest is just a fucking lunatic."

Yea, quit using that filthy fuckin' language, even a fuckin' dumb ass knows I don't like the god damned fucking cussing.

I won't be returning to this site until they redesign it back! Viewing one at a time is just too time consuming! Bye!

I don't know...it's not like I pass out an IQ test beforehand. They can form coherent sentences and seem to figure out my innuendo about having a big meeting in the morning, so they can't be too stupid...
What I do know, however, that studies have shown that clicking the big Next button up above lowers a person's IQ by a whole point. It wasn't so bad when everything was on one page, but now... - John

Though... you don't have to move the mouse and click on the big "next" button, just use the right arrow key on your keyboard to go to the next one or left arrow key to go to the previous one :)

This design is absolutely terrible. 80% of your site space is advertising, 10% of the remaining is a Facebook feed, and you need a freakin' Post-It Note to tell people how to use it. This should be a huge hint to you that YOUR. DESIGN. SUCKS. Please hire a real designer. Who cares if this is only a "phase"? You don't launch a freakin' release that makes your customer experience 10x worse (not that it was great to begin with) and then let them just deal with it until you get around to finishing. There is no site so huge and popular that its users are willing to wade through a bunch of crap just to get to the content. See also: Myspace.
Seriously. Hire a designer.
June 29, 2012 at 4:16 pm
I've been reading the comments that people (including yourself) have been leaving and I've noticed 2 things.
1) The facebook feeds are working for this site, since people are obviously leaving comments, reading comments, and commenting on comments... that's what it's here for and it's being used appropriately.
2) a lot of people are complaining about this site's layout... which I don't understand since it's incredibly obvious where to click for the next post, and you can ignore everything else, including the advertising.
Each post is in the same place on the page, you just scroll down a little to see it, then click on to the next one. Scrolling down a touch can't be the issue either, because you had to scroll down the page to see the posts in the previous format.
This said, noone forces anyone to be here... if you dislike it that much and you stay here using it, then it's your own fault you're unhappy.
Contact the site author, lodge a complaint, and if they don't fix it to your liking... move on.
June 29, 2012 at 4:19 pm
Forcing people to click through each individual post while being barraged with a page full of ads is terrible web design and a very bad user experience. For people who browse on a phone, it increases their bandwidth usage and takes forever to load.
I won't even go into the stupidity of designing a site where the primary reaction is, "If you don't like it, leave." People *will* leave. That really defeats the purpose of designing and having a site, doesn't it?
June 30, 2012 at 5:15 am
actually... you don't have to click the button... you can use the arrow keys (left and rigt) to go to the previous or next one :) so no clicking necessary.
June 30, 2012 at 5:24 am
actually noone's forcing anyone to do anything... including being here on this site... vote with your action and just leave if you don't like it :)
Zion Thomas:

the main problem with the site is you an't scroll through quickly, so if you have already seen like the first 100 posts, you have to go through all those 100 to get to new ones you havent seen yet, which takes forever and is exetremely boring.
Laurie Lorance:
July 7, 2012 at 11:15 pm
use adblock and you won't see any ads at all...you people need to quit being so lazy and acting like a bunch of toddlers that's overdue for a nap...if you don't like it, LEAVE, quit annoying those of us that don't freak out every time someone makes a change...get over yourselves, the world does NOT revolve around you.

New layout is crap. Too slow to navigate and you just loose interest and log out. Remember the old addage " If it ain't broke don't fix it".

I see why people hate the layout, this website loads way faster with this layout then before. I like having just one thing on each page, my internet works with it. Keep it up DYAC, I love this design, it rocks!
