I think it's a bit harsh expecting any app to autofill, "Skynyrd," esp. when it's spelled wrong to begin with.

*Spelt

Ah, well, for what it's worth, I AM the product of American public schools. I try not to drop the "u" in words that should have one (i.e. cloUr, flavoUr, glamoUr, etc), though, so do I get partial credit?

actually "spelled" is correct. "Spelt" is a kind of flour :P

"Spelled" in the US, "Spelled" AND "Spelt" everywhere else, although "Spelt" (which, as a noun, is also a type of wheat) is losing popularity over the former.

Paul, you're goofy if you think you need to keep the "U" in words just because England does it. They don't own the language! And I'm tired of ignorant Brits acting like American English is wrong.

I don't keep the 'u' in words because Brits do it. I do it because that's the way those words had always been spelled (spelt?). I'm American, born, raised & still living here, and I'm tired of Americans acting entitled & superior. I'm tired of the erosion of the language I was forced to endure 12 years of education in, and pass, to get my highschool diploma, now being beaten down & trampled at every turn, including by our leaders & news sources.. Ah, well..

They're actually both gramatically correct. American public schools prefer "Spelled" over "Spelt" while British English schools make no distinction between the two, being past paticiples and past tenses of "Spell".

Say it with me: Lynyrd. Skynyrd. There is no 'a' in the spellings!
