Don’t worry, mom!

According to Meredith, “I went thru a dead zone & got DISCONNECTED from my mom. Pulled over to text her that I was ok bc she always worries that I got in an accident whenever we get disconnected. Pressed my mom’s old cell number & texted all this to some poor stranger who now thinks her/his number was my ‘boobs’ old number. Geezus, I don’t think it’s possible to explain this one”

  1. Still not clear what “neuter devotion” was.

  2. Cyndy Otty says:

The wrong number texts I get are never this interesting.

    Neuter devotion? o_O

    • Merrik says:

Lol I’ve only got one really funny one. I’ll post it some day when I get off my butt since I need to edit out where the person gave me their full name… and reminded me of the passionate nights we apparently spent together XD

  3. Jen says:

Wow this might be the most complicated autocorrect EVER!!!

  4. Famous Dave says:

I’m assuming neuter devotion was to be better connection, funny

  5. havingfitz says:

I hate when my boobs get a new number: it’s even worse when they each insist on getting their own. I never remember one, let alone two.

  6. da Doctah says:

Unlike the stranger who got these messages, her Mom would have known from the beginning that everything was okay. Mom would understand that any lowlife who stole Meredith’s phone would be able to text better than this.

  7. Jen says:

Unless you’re using BluTooth, why are you texting/talking on the phone while driving?

No wonder she worries you’ve been in an accident when you get disconnected, it’s people like you who ccause them!

    • Des says:

Well, she did say she pulled over to text…

And she might have had some sort of hands-free device to use for talking on her phone while driving, for all you know.

Can’t really a judge a person, saying they cause accidents, if you don’t know all the info.

    • Nomen says:

BluTooth and talking on the phone regular are just as bad. Both of them mean you’re paying attention to your conversation and not what’s around you. If you have a problem with one, then the other shouldn’t be acceptable. People like YOU cause accidents, because you think that BluTooth is any better.

      • Meghan says:

So… if BluTooth is bad, should I just not carry on conversations with the people that are in the car with me too? It’s basically the same concept.

      • rheet says:

I’m sorry that’s the most stupid thing I have ever heard. So you’re telling me that if there are passengers in your car you have to sit there in total silence because according to you paying attention to a conversation while driving causes accidents? If there’ s no difference between a hand held device and a blue tooth device…then by your stupid logic there isn’t a difference if there’s a person sitting next to you. So unless you always drive in your car alone or don’t ever allow your passengers to speak and do the same for any driver you are a passenger of….please do me a favor and STFU about people using a blue tooth device to talk on a phone and drive.

      • Me says:

So, you’re saying that you NEVER speak in your car when you’re driving…no singing to the radio when you’re driving by yourself, no yelling at the jerk that cut you off in traffic, not to the passengers in your car? Not a WORD??
And for your information, Blutooth is completely legal to use, and I’m sorry, I find drinking a coffee/soda/water etc more distracting while driving that talking.

        • sockpuppet says:

actually, you’re all wrong. They are considering outlawing talking on the phone in the car at a federal level, even hands-free, because the issue isn’t using your hands, it’s the divided attention. Studies have shown that it IS different than talking to people who are in the car with you, because the people in the car with you can see when there are times to pause in the conversation due to traffic etc, whereas the person on the phone cannot, and continues talking even when you need a moment. BTW I don’t really give a rats behind about any of this, but at least know what you are talking about.

          • ilovezombies says:

            ^ This

          • Someone New says:

Sockpuppet is correct, from what I’ve read. And from what I’ve experienced. I get more distracted talking on the phone (via hands-free, of course) vs talking to someone in the car with me.
I wonder why that is? Has anyone seen a study identifying the reason?

          • Jenni says:

I think it’s because you’re ALWAYS distracted whilst talking on the phone, no matter what else you’re doing. You have no visual cues so you focus more on the audio cues you do have.

          • Colony says:

Agreed (with you and Jenni and Someone New, who don’t have reply buttons). The phone is very distracting, whether you’re holding it or not. It’s like part of your attention is off wherever your phone buddy is, so it’s not all available for watching the road.

  8. Eric says:

wow she must have big boobs for them to need their own phone number!!

  9. fpage77 says:

Submitter put the phone down and drive that way you won’t drop mom and have to call her in such a hurry. I’m so sick of people driving down the road with cell phone in ear not paying attention.

  10. HerpDerp says:

And she still didn’t notice anything about the “neuter devotion”. LOL.

  11. cattycat says:

Why can’t something be funny without ppl jumping on the bandwagon to lecture a total stranger…here’s an original idea, Mind your own bidness …

  12. Your Name Here says:

Take a chill pill, people! Yelling at this person on DYAC isn’t going to save the world.

  13. Matt says:

    fake and dumb

  14. Jimmy cracked corn says:

Anybody else noticed that she’s got 15750 notifications (look in the top left corner) o.O

  15. StrangerCoug says:

That’s an embarrassment if I ever saw one.

  16. Liz says:

What’s with the lack of new autocorrects?

  17. Spectra says:

Really good question Liz, its like the whole site has just…stopped. Hope Jillian is OK.
