Maybe it’s supposed to be funny because Holland isn’t a country.
Since when did Holland become anything else then a country????
The Netherlands is the country though the term Holland is often used to refer to the country.
Holland is the Western region of the country The Netherlands, FYI.

Holland is a country.. and so is Netherlands. Its the same country.
In Denmark where im at, its named Holland. where as in England, its named The Netherlands.

Utrecht and friesland are provinces of the netherlands/holland.
holland is a different term for the netherlands, the term holland can also be used for a region in the west of holland, devided into the provinces south holland and north holland.

Yeah, this person is pretty awesome.
Don’t ever call someone from pets say the province of Limburg in the Netherlands that they live in Holland. There are just two provinces that have ‘Holland’ in the name, North Holland and South Holland.
It is not the same, for the Brits, it is as if you say to a Welsh or Scottish person he lives in England.
